09 Apr Watch a Solar Panel Installation at the Waldoboro Transfer Station

The Sundog Solar team installed a 110 kW solar system at the Waldoboro Transfer station. Watch this team of solar experts install the solar panels and save the town of Waldoboro $380,000 over the life of the system.

Sundog Solar installed a 110 kW solar system at the Waldoboro Transfer Station in Maine. This solar system will save the town $380,000 over the life of the project.

Sundog Solar installed and owns the solar PV system and will sell power to the town of Waldoboro for a lower rate than it currently pays. The town will save money from day one and this solar panel installation is a great way to hedge against rising electricity prices. The town will have the option to purchase the solar energy system in year six.

“It is very important to preserve farmland in Maine to feed our population and ensure food security,” says Danny Piper, co-owner of Sundog Solar. “This installation makes productive use of landfill space while generating clean energy.”
