Sundog Solar Commercial Solar Pool Heating System in Sunday River, Maine. is comprised on 24 Sun Earth solar hot water collectors, which heat the Locke Mountain Town House Associations 1600 sq. ft. swimming pool year round. The system will contribute around 250 million Btus of energy per year into the pool, greatly reducing the propane consumption used to heat the pool.
This resort pool is heated with the use of Solar Hot Water collectors (photo, left). Because this is a salt water pool, our customer chose a drain-back system with a flat-plate titanium heat exchanger.

The complete installation isn’t visible from the ground, preserving the historic character of University of Maine’s architecture. The installation necessitated custom made clamps, welded to existing structure to accommodate the force of the wind anticipated.
