Technical Solar Salesperson

Technical Solar Salesperson

Description of the Position:

This person will work with homeowners, municipalities, school, organizations, and businesses to cut electricity bills and achieve greater energy independence with solar energy. This solar salesperson will contact existing leads via email and phone, and conduct solar energy surveys of their properties.

The sales territory is greater Maine. This position also occasionally includes community outreach about solar energy in Maine, attending trade shows, and giving presentations.

This is a full-time position with an hourly base pay plus commissions, reporting to the owners of the company. There would be an initial minimum required sales goal for the year and a focus on meeting sales goals selling grid-tied solar and off-grid solar systems with batteries.  

Compensation: A salary plus a competitive commission for each solar energy project.

The potential income, if goals are met, will be $67,500.

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong background in sales
  • Technical knowledge

  • Prior solar energy experience preferred but not required
  • An understanding of solar incentives, ROI, payback period, and financing solar energy
  • An ability to draft solar energy proposals to potential customers

  • Computer skills using CRM software, Google Drive, and spreadsheets
  • A college degree is preferred

Full-Time Senior Solar Installer

Job Responsibilities, Senior Solar Installer

The ideal candidate will have high professional standards, a strong technical understanding of solar electric design, be comfortable communicating with customers, and be computer proficient in mac and windows. Preference will be given to solar installers who are Licensed Electricians and those who have completed NABCEP certification or are currently in NABCEP training.

Candidates should be physically located in the region where installations are concentrated, in coastal, island, interior and Southern areas of Maine. Candidates from New England who are interested in relocating to Maine are strongly encouraged to apply.

Additional requirements of the job include the ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and the ability to work efficiently on rooftops. In addition to having the capability to operate company vehicles and equipment in order to travel to job sites as needed, the candidate must have access to an insured personal vehicle for travel and maintain a valid drivers license.

Sundog Solar seeks Full-Time and Part-Time Licensed Electricians to join our team as Electrician specializing in Residential and Commercial electrical installations of Grid-Tied and Off-Grid Solar Electric systems and other renewable energy systems. Our growing company offers opportunity for advancement.

As a Master Electrician working for Sundog Solar, your primary responsibilities will be the following:

Have a current Master Electricians license in the state of Maine.
Be responsible for the AC and/or DC side of residential and commercial solar projects.

Solar Electric Systems/grid tied:

Secure necessary permits for residential and commercial work.
Make any arrangements with the utility company prior to installation date.
Lead AC installation including: balance of system (BOS) layout, inverter installation, conduit and wiring, service disconnects, grid intertie, voltage testing, and ensuring compliance with all NEC and AHJ requirements for solar systems.
Oversee the roof mounting of solar modules by other crewmembers.
Grid tied with battery backup systems, install and connect batteries to system.

Solar Electric Systems/off grid:

Installation including: balance of system (BOS) layout, inverter installation, conduit and wiring, service disconnects, charge controllers, voltage testing, and ensuring compliance with all NEC and AHJ requirements for solar systems.
Connect solar array(s) and module strings to charge controller and then to inverter.
Oversee the roof mounting of solar modules by other crewmembers
Install and connect batteries to system

Mini-split heat pumps:

Run 20amp and 30amp circuits for Multi-Zone and Single Zone systems including breakers, emt and GFI disconnects.

Electrician should also be able to comfortably lift 75lbs, climb ladders.
Must possess excellent teamwork skills
Licensed Electrician demonstrates commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
Travel may be required

Heat Pump Technician

Sundog Solar is seeking a heat pump technician experienced in the installation of Mini-Split Heat Pumps and other split refrigeration systems for residential and commercial customers.
