Danny Piper
Sundog Solar Co-owner Danny Piper’s responsibilities include operations, design and project oversight at Sundog. One of the most experienced solar professionals in Maine, Danny has designed and installed hundreds of solar energy and mechanical systems. Danny holds the distinction of both NABCEP PV Professional certification, and NABCEP Solar Heating Installers certification in the state of Maine. He also carries his Universal Refrigeration certification and Maine state propane and NG license.
Before moving to Maine full time in 2008, Danny and partner, Gretchen lived and worked on the coast of Seward Alaska as kayak guides, following on their work-life adventure in Steamboat Springs Colorado, where they enjoyed snowboarding over 100 days of the year. Danny’s experience includes construction, carpentry and 12 years of mechanical installation work. His company’s success is equivalent to his drive to integrate megawatts of solar electricity! Danny devotes himself to his young family and homestead in Swanville, growing organic food, and running his own renewable energy systems around his house, and is always looking for the next opportunity to positively impact our environment.
